Employment Support Project
The Employment Support Officers primarily objective is to get people who face particular challenges ready and fit for work by enhancing their skills, and boosting their confidence and self esteem. Employment rates have improved over the last ten years, with exception of the lowest qualified people, therefore we have aligning our agenda to provide more support for these people with no or low qualifications, to ensure that that everyone can move into, and progress in, work.
Economic inclusion and worklessness is a key challenge for EDDT. Work is the main route out of poverty, people who work are better off financially, better off in term of their health and well-being and the future prospects for themselves and their families. Work promotes choice and independence for people, support our society and increases community cohesion.
Our aim is to make sure that no child grows up in poverty, and supporting parents to help them into work and to acquire the skills they need to enter and progress in work is the best way in achieving this. Our overall goal is to improve people’s lives.
We will work with individuals from Dunscroft and Stainforth to remove the barriers and problems which prevent them from entering the labour market. For some this will take a matter of weeks - for a less fortunate few, this may take many months or even years.
